WTD2021 COVID 19 SENSITIZATION AND VACCINATION DRIVE

SPORTS TOURISM LIMITED in partnership with Nakuru County Government and other stakeholders is organizing a Nationwide COVID 19 Sensitization and Vaccination Drive in all the 47 Counties in Kenya to sensitize Kenyans on the COVID 19 Virus and the need to get vaccinated.

Theme: “Tuchanjwe Tukomeshe Korona”

Vaccination against the virus is the best solution to curb the virus which will eventually lead to the country opening up https://youtu.be/rV1DvyDIu8Q. Vaccination allows us to come together, shoulder to shoulder – In schools, places of worship, work, sports and other social places. Vaccination is the best hope of ending the COVID 19 Pandemic and getting back to doing the things we enjoy, with the people we love. The initiative is also geared towards complementing the efforts by the County and National Government to ensure that over 10 Million Kenyans are vaccinated by the end of year 2021.

NAKURU COUNTY Government has been at the forefront in fighting the virus and will be the first county where this sensitization drive will be conducted. The Vaccination drive will be conducted across all the sub counties in Nakuru County. The official launch and flagging of will take place at Kiandege Grounds, Hells Gate Ward, Naivasha Sub County in Nakuru County on Saturday, 9th October 2021.

Vaccinations will be done in designated vaccination centers supported by outreaches in Key areas with large populations including Flower Farms, Hotels, Matatu stages and Bus parks across all the Sub Counties. To ensure that the Sensitization and Vaccination drive reaches as many people as possible, we shall have various attraction activities including:-
• Vaccinations in designated vaccination centers and outreaches
• Distribution of Facemasks, Sanitizers, soaps, Handwashing equipment
• Soccer & Volleyball both men & Ladies
• Biking Competition
• Music Entertainment, Acrobats & Cultural Dances
• Roadshows
• Celebrity Artists performances
• Drama, Poems, Spoken words & Skits

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive social and economic impact. Both developed and developing economies have been hit. And marginalized groups and the most vulnerable have been hit hardest of all. The restart of tourism will help kickstart recovery and growth. It is essential that the benefits this will bring are enjoyed widely and fairly

SPORTS TOURISM LIMITED is a destination marketing organization responsible for marketing sports tourism related activities and events to facilitate destination and attraction development opportunities that have the potential of attracting additional visitations through sports activities and events.

The COVID 19 has had a diverse effect on Tourism, Sports, Hospitality and Entertainment which are a source of livelihood to millions of people across the world and hence the need to take the initiative, mobilize stakeholders and engage the communities to take up the vaccinations as this offers the fastest and surest way to curb the virus for businesses to thrive once again and cushion the people against poverty and hunger.
