UNWTO Students' League 2021 - UST Thomasian SDG Keepers Turnover Ceremony
As we celebrate victory through a sustainable partnership and collaboration with partner institutions during the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Students’ League 2021 Competition, the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Provider of Top-notch and World-class Enriched Virtual Tourism and Hospitality Education, will conduct its UST Thomasian SDG Keepers Tourism Marketing Campaign Virtual Turnover Ceremony with the theme, Champions in Tourism Sustainability and Ethical Standards, on September 01, 2021 (Wednesday) from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM using the UST Cloud Campus – Zoom Meetings Platform and Facebook Live (UST College of Tourism and Hospitality Management). It is a virtual event that will present the students' output and recognize the efforts of the partner institutions, specifically on the conceptualization and development. It is also in line with the celebration of World Tourism Day 2021, with the theme, Tourism for Inclusive Growth.
UST Thomasian SDG Keepers, who got 4th Place out of 65 academic institutions in the World, highlighted the naturally and culturally diverse community of Barangay Tenani, Paranas, Samar. It was partnered with the Department of Tourism Region VIII, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region VIII, Provincial Government of Samar, and the Municipal Government of Paranas, Samar.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) organized the UNWTO Students League 2021. It is “an innovative 360º competition for students that fosters talent development, bridges the gap between studies and the realities of the sector and produces solutions for the challenges of the sector aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” (UNWTO, 2021).
