Commitment Signatory: Grupo Barceló
On behalf of Grupo Barceló, the company's Director of Regional Operations, Mr. Rafael Asuar, signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on the 16th of September 2011, on the occasion of the 1st International Congress on Ethics and Tourism (15-16 September 2011, Madrid, Spain).
Grupo Barceló is one of the eleven Spanish tourism enterprises and associations which signed the first ever Commitment to the Code of Ethics in September 2011.
The representatives of the first companies to sign the Private Sector Commitment to the Code of Ethics with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias, the Minister of Tourism of Spain, the Secretary-General of UNWTO, the Secretary-General of Turespaña, the President of UNICEF Spain, and the Chairman of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics, at the first International Congress on Ethics and Tourism (Madrid, Spain, 15-16 September 2011).
