Centre Stage Project | Project Participants
The National Tourism Administrations of Jordan, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico are all participants of the Centre Stage project. The four administrations are working actively and in close cooperation with UNWTO to implement personalized Action Plans specifically designed to help them achieve gender equality in tourism and boost opportunities for women’s empowerment within the sector.
The four participating administrations will implement a series of specific actions such as implement a gender equality policy for the recovery of the tourism sector, provide gender equality training for policy makers or measures to boost female career progression.
In each country, a diverse group of tourism businesses are implementing an Action Plan specifically designed for the private sector.
Among the expected results, the different participating businesses will provide tailored gender equality trainings, introduce programmes for female career progression and formally commit to ‘equal pay for work of equal value’.
