UNWTO Ethics Award - CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The World Committee on Tourism Ethics has created a new category of the UNWTO Awards, the flagship awards of the World Tourism Organization for the global tourism sector: The UNWTO Ethics Award

The UNWTO Ethics Award will be conferred by the World Committee on Tourism Ethics to tourism companies and trade associations that have signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics and reported on its implementation.

The Members of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics will act as Jury for the Award following the criteria set forth in the Ethics Award Guidelines. The Chair, or his/her representative, will award the prize during the official Ceremony on 18 January 2017 at the International Tourism Trade Fair FITUR (IFEMA) in Madrid, Spain.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2016. Please make sure to read the Guidelines before completing your application. Applications not respecting the conditions listed in the Statement of Understanding will not be considered.

UNWTO Awards Forum

The UNWTO Awards Forum will be held prior to the Awards Ceremony on 16 January 2017.

The forum is held to highlight best practices and theories showcased by the UNWTO Awards finalists. The forum includes keynote speeches by the UNWTO Ulysses Prize and the Lifetime Achievement laureates, presentations by the awardees and a high level panel discussion on the current status of innovation in tourism and how to improve knowledge flows within the tourism community, therefore bridging theory and practice.
