Tourism On The Agenda As UNWTO Welcomes Fellow UN Agencies And World Leaders To Madrid For COP25
Madrid, Spain, 2 December 2019 – The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has welcomed its fellow United Nations agencies to Madrid for the start of the COP25 Climate Change Summit. With tourism now high on the United Nations agenda, and with UNWTO the global leader in tourism for development and advocacy, this summit will see the near-limitless potential of the sector discussed at the very highest level and placed at the center of the climate emergency conversation.

Global City Leaders Adopt ‘Nur-Sultan Declaration’ On Smart Cities At Urban Tourism Summit in Kazakhstan
Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, 10 October – City leaders from around the world have met in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan for the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Global Urban Tourism Summit. The Summit enjoyed the highest level of political support, with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meeting with the Secretary-General of UNWTO Zurab Pololikashvili ahead of the official opening which was led by Prime Minister Askar Mamin and the Mayor of Nursultan Altay Kulginov

World Tourism Organization Welcomes $1 Million Donation To Grow Wildlife Tourism For The Benefit Of People And Planet
28 October, Guangzhou, China – The World Tourism Organization is to continue to lead the way in growing wildlife tourism and harnessing it as a driver for conservation and development, supported by a major new US$1 million donation from the Chimelong Flora and Fauna Conservation Foundation.
