43th Affiliate Members Plenary Session
The 43th Affiliate Members Plenary Session will take place in the framework of the 24th UNWTO General Assembly in Madrid, a decisive event in the journey to restart tourism.
Especially, the 43th Affiliate Members Plenary Session will serve as the scenario to approve the UNWTO Affiliate Membership Legal Reform, aimed at modernize the status of Affiliate Members within UNWTO, as well as to set the basis for the Affiliate Members Programme of Work 2022.
The most important statutory meeting of the UNWTO Affiliate Membership will bring once again Affiliate Members from all around the world to meet, discuss, share and interact around a variety of topics, serving as a dynamic space to generate ideas, discuss the latest trends of the sector and work together towards fostering public-private collaboration and promoting good practices in the sector.

This document gives an overview of the main lines of work and achievements during last 12 months, which mostly refer to the implementation of the Programme of Work 2021.
Programme of Work 2022
The Programme of Work 2022 defines the priority lines of action of the Affiliate Members Department, in full alignment with UNWTO’s Management Vision, Objectives and Priorities, and reflecting the outcome of with the UNWTO Affiliate Membership. The activities included in the PoW 2022 are oriented to achieving the strategic objective established by the Secretary General for this Department: strengthen UNWTO’s capacity to deliver value, through the contribution of its Affiliate Membership
Starting from extensive analysis and evaluation of the membership, based on inputs received from Members and surveys caried out in 2019 and 2021 AMD reached the conclusion that is essential and urgent to update and modernize the current legal framework of the UNWTO Affiliate Membership.
Within this context, the Reform of our legal basis is the highest priority in the Affiliate Members Department since January 2020.
