The One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme has the objective to enhance the sustainable development impacts of the tourism sector by 2030, by developing, promoting and scaling up sustainable consumption and production practices that boost the efficient use of natural resources while producing less waste and addressing the challenges of climate change and biodiversity.
The One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme is one of the six programmes of the One Planet network. It operates as a multi-stakeholder partnership that promotes networking and initiatives focused on decoupling tourism’s growth from the increased use of natural resources and connected to Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13, 14 and 15 (respectively on sustainable consumption and production, climate action and the protection of marine and terrestrial ecosystems).
