UNWTO Regional Capacity Building Course on Tourism Strategy
The Regional Programme for the Middle East has the honour to announce that a new UNWTO Regional Capacity Building Course on Tourism Strategy will be held in Doha from 11 to 15 May 2014, in cooperation with the Qatar Tourism Authority and the UNWTO.Themis Foundation.
Considering the tourism sector’s important potential to provide diversification opportunities, it is of utmost importance that tourism destination managers have the capacity, knowledge and skills to develop and implement effective tourism development strategies that will ensure destination competitiveness and sustainability whilst benefiting the local communities.
This capacity building activity has been tailored to effectively combine the study of conceptual elements that form the essential base for the reflection and analysis of key tourism development and policy principles, with a practical and applied vision.
