UN Tourism Academy is looking for EXPERTS for the development and delivery of a 50-hour Online Executive Training on “Management of Nature-based Tourism Destinations” held upon the request of the Ministry of Tourism of Lebanon which is to be delivered before the end of 2025.
This comprehensive Executive Training programme is designed to equip tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, and policymakers in Lebanon with the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen the country’s tourism sector. It will address critical areas such as current industry trends, investment opportunities, product and destination development, sustainability, and crisis management. By fostering innovation and resilience, the initiative aims to contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of Lebanon’s tourism industry.
50-Hour Online Executive Training
This program offers a 50-hour Online Executive Training delivered over 5 months. It includes five modules focused on Sustainability, Current Trends, and Destination Development and two 90-minute webinars.
Each module incorporates:
- Two weeks of self-paced learning through our online platform.
- A 3-hour online workshop via Zoom.
- One week of open-access testing.
- Diverse learning resources such as reading materials, videos, and live sessions
Training Modules:
- Current Trends in Nature-Based Tourism (10 hours total: 3 hours live session, self-paced online study, and assessment) + WEBINAR
- Tourism Innovation and Investments in Nature-Based Tourism (10 hours total: 3 hours live session, self-paced online study, and assessment)
- Nature-Based Tourism Product and Destination Development (10 hours total: 3 hours live session, self-paced online study, and assessment) + WEBINAR
- Sustainability, Ethics, Culture and Social Responsibility in Nature-Based Tourism (10 hours total: 3 hours live session, self-paced online study, and assessment)
- Crisis Management and Communication in Nature-Based Tourism (10 hours total: 3 hours live session, self-paced online study, and assessment)
Each webinar incorporates:
Each webinar will consist of a 60-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A session, covering the following topics:
- Current Trends in Nature-Based Tourism
- Nature-Based Tourism Product and Destination Development
Key Details:
- Language: Arabic or English, with Arabic translation provided.
- Target Audience: General public.
- Participants: Up to 500 active participants during live webinars and up to 10,000 attendees via social media broadcast. Webinars may also be recorded and made available indefinitely on social media and the Ministry's website.
The training will be conducted in self-paced mode and is available in English or Arabic, with Arabic translation provided.
Experts are expected to have the following competences:
- Have proven experience on the topic of the initiative;
- have broad international, private and public experience;
- be able to work and speak fluently in English and Arabic;
- have very good experience on teaching and training;
- have abilities and skills to share knowledge in an interactive and practical manner;
- preferably, know the tourism reality of the region;
- preferably, have a good knowledge of UN Tourism work and programmes;
- have proven experience in using Zoom platform and in online education.
Experts are also expected to provide the following services, with the support and under the supervision of the UN Tourism Academy:
- prepare the proposed structure and scheduling of the training programme(s) assigned;
- develop the content and materials for the training programme(s) assigned;
- deliver the training programme(s) assigned; and
- write and submit the final report(s) with recommendations.
