During the 1st Summit of Presidents of Travel Agencies Associations, that took place on the 7th November in Cordoba, Spain, 12 companies and associations signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. The group included organisations from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa (SUSPENDED), Canada, Greece, Spain, Latvia, Cyprus and Norway.

In August 2013, the the Chinese Chamber of Tourism, along with eight of the country´s most influential tourism corporations, signed the private sector’s commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics, in the context of the 6th UNWTO International Meeting on Silk Road Tourism held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province, P.R. China, an event jointly organized by UNWTO, China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and Gansu Province of China.
