Igniting Innovation: Tourism Hackathon Nigeria 2.0
In a display of creativity and technological prowess, the second iteration of the Tourism Hackathon Nigeria unfolded at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos from September 6th to 7th, 2023. Organized by Bedouin Group as part of the Hack for Tomorrow initiative, the event set out to redefine Nigeria's tourism landscape through the power of technology.
Over two dynamic days, a diverse array of participants, aged between 18 and 30 and representing various fields, unveiled astonishing ingenuity. Among the finalists, Virtual Tour NG from Oyo State claimed victory with a web application seamlessly integrating Virtual Reality. This innovative solution addresses critical concerns in the industry - ensuring financial accessibility, preserving cultural heritage, and streamlining logistical operations.
The event's impact extends far beyond its duration, promising to shape the future of African tourism. With gender inclusivity and a focus on sustainability, the hackathon heralds a new era of tech-driven tourism innovation.
