First World Music and Tourism Festival

First World Music and Tourism Festival

16 - 18 July, 2025
Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo + Face-to-face

With the aim of promoting music as a powerful driving force for travel and cultural exchange, attracting visitors from all over the world in search of authentic and immersive experiences, the initiative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to organize the First World Music and Tourism Festival in Kinshasa, from 16 to 18 July 2025, underlines the importance of cultural diversity as a lever for sustainable tourism and economic development.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in collaboration with UN Tourism, this event represents a unique opportunity to promote the "DRC" destination, and to highlight the deep link between music and tourism, notably through Congolese Rumba, which became an emblematic element of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List in December 2021. The festival will showcase rhythmic and immersive performances related to four musical expressions: traditional, urban, folk and rumba.

Through its roundtables addressing music as a unifying art form, issues related to copyright and intellectual property, the dynamization of destinations, the digital revolution, and the role of youth in innovation and the promotion of musical heritage, the festival will provide a stimulating platform for enriching and transformative discussions.

Recognizing historical links and intercontinental synergies, this first edition of the World Festival of Music and Tourism will be instrumental in promoting the integration of music into the tourism offer, highlighting the key role of cultural and creative industries, and encouraging sustainable economic opportunities.

Online registration is available until 27 June 2025. For further information, please visit https://www.fmmt.events or contact the organizers at the following address: contact@fmmt.events
