UNWTO Academy is looking for a UNWTO.QUEST online assistant for the improvement phase of a DMO in the United Arab Emirates, which will take place from May to September 2023.

The candidate must possess the following competencies:

• have at least 5 years of experience in tourism destination management
• have experience in training in tourism
• speak and work in English fluently
• possibly, having been trained as a quality auditor for tourism destination management organizations
• possibly, having participated in an onsite audit for tourism destination management organizations
• preferably, having a solid knowledge of the UNWTO and UNWTO Academy programs, and in particular of UNWTO.QUEST
• have the following skills and competencies:
  • set and know how to follow achievable and measurable goals
  • be able to work online and on-site with a team, and independently
  • manage time effectively
  • know how to plan and supervise the action plan
  • prioritise tasks effectively
  • organise and motivate others
  • complete the work in a defined time (even short)
  • help others to achieve set goals
  • find solutions quickly and easily
  • be flexible – be ready to adapt objectives in light of changing circumstances
  • be sensitive to other values and feelings of people
  • identify the measures needed to achieve the objectives

The selected person must remotely assist in the entire UNWTO.QUEST improvement phase process of a DMO in the United Arab Emirates, with the support and supervision of the UNWTO Academy, completing the following tasks:

• Define the work plan, according to UNWTO Academy's template
• Coordinate the trainers' work
• Ensure the proper delivery of documentation and other deliverables by all parties
• Execute other organizational tasks that this project requires
• Monitor the tasks of all parties for the proper development of the project
• Support in the execution of the work plan
• Monitor the execution of the work plan
