UNWTO Training Workshop on Tourism Marketing and Promotion in Syria

The World Tourism Organization and the UNWTO.Themis Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Syrian Arab Republic carried out the workshop on Tourism Marketing and Promotion between 4 and 6 April in Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic.
 
This initiative was attended by 80 participants from Iraq, Jordan and the Syrian Arab Republic and was inaugurated and closed by Mr. Bassam Barsik, Director of Tourism Development and Marketing, Government of the Syrian Arab Republic.
 
This workshop aimed to provide middle to senior level tourism professionals from the Middle East region with practical managerial marketing expertise in applying strategic decision making methodologies, which focused on the relevance of intelligence, the strategic approach, branding a destination, innovative marketing tools and crisis management in tourism.
