The UNWTO Knowledge Network invites all its members to participate in the UNWTO Tourism Ethics Seminar

Jointly organized by UNWTO and the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Seminar on Tourism Ethics for Asia and the Pacific: Responsible Tourism and Its Socio-Economic Impact on Local Communities will take place at Melia Nusa Dua Hotel, Bali, Indonesia on 11 June 2011.

This important event will feature input from a broad spectrum of tourism stakeholders – representing governments, the tourism industry, international organizations, the education sector and non-governmental organizations – who will gather to discuss pressing issues in tourism ethics and responsible tourism. It will also be held for the first time in parallel with a meeting of the World Committee of Tourism Ethics (WCTE), whose members will convene for its 10th session on 12 and 13 June 2011 in Bali.

The Seminar will comprise three sessions:

  • Conceptual Framework and Policy Formulation of Responsible Tourism
  • Tourism Ethics for Better Tourism Products and Services Assurance.
  • Socio-economic Impact of Sustainable Tourism Development on Local Communities (please download the General Information Note for more details).

The working language of the Seminar will be English
