Official presentation of the results of the Mystery Shopper project

On February 17, the results of the Mystery Shopper project were presented. This project was carried-out during the summer of 2010 by the participants of the University course on Tourism and Development Cooperation organized every year by the UNWTO.Themis Foundation.

The study, which evaluated more than 40 issues, aimed to measure the quality of service in the tourism offices of the 7 Parishes of the Principality. This was achieved through an undercover survey in which 44 members of the course, posing as ordinary tourists, visited different tourist offices to evaluate the service received. The final results showed a satisfaction rate of 70% but have also exposed some weaknesses.
Monica Bonell, Consol Menor of the Canillo Comú, said that this study has greatly helped the Principality’s tourist offices and that these have already begun work on certain areas concerning the service given to tourists. She also mentioned the training activities that will be carried out between all Comuns to improve tourist services.
