The UNWTO-Excellence in Tourism Management course has finalized
The UNWTO-Excellence in Tourism Management course organized by the World Tourism Organization - through its UNWTO.Themis Foundation - and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of Argentina, finalized on the 7th of August. The course was held in the Province of Chaco, Argentina, from 2 to 7 august.
 
The closing ceremony was attended by Omar Ayala, President of the Council of the Municipality of the “Isla del Cerrito”; José Luis García, Governor of the “Isla del Cerrito”; Ángela Ayala, Director of Quality and Training of MINTUR; Adrián Contreras, Coordinator of the Federal Tourism Council;José Ignacio Saife, Sub-secretary of Tourism of the Province of Chaco and Leo Bender,  President of the Chamber of Tourism of the Province of Chaco.
 
27 officials from National, Regional and/or Local Tourism Administrations participated, of which 20 were Argentinean and 7 were internationals from Tunisia, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay and Paraguay.
 
Experts Rodolfo Lizano and Alessio Poluzzi, both specialized in Tourism Planning, Strategy and Marketing, shared their knowledge on the objectives of tourism destinations, on strategic planning of a destination, on the development of products and services and on management for development.
 
As part of the practical side of the course, the participants also enjoyed a visit to the Island of Cerrito in order to gather information and interview the different tourism players from the private and public sector and from the social society.
