Korea and UNWTO.TedQual work on strength the links between national and international accreditation systems for tourism education
In Buan, Korea, among the 5th–7th July 2010, was carried out the Annual Meeting and International Conference of the Tourism Science Society of Korea (TOSOK), an instance where the links between National Accreditation Systems for Higher Tourism Education and UNWTO.TedQual Certification System were identified and discussed.
This is the first time a country (Korea) is going to develop a System using, as a framework of reference, the UNWTO.TedQual Certification. An exercise that is looking forward to create synergies among their objectives, assessment aspects and administrative processes - with the final aim of contributing to the students learning process (knowledge, skills and values ) of Higher Tourism Education Institutions.
Therefore, the National Tourism Administration of Korea has given to TOSOK the responsibility to work actively in the development of this proposal, which will be supported by UNWTO.Themis Foundation through its programmes UNWTO.TedQual and UNWTO.Strategy.
