End of the 1st Training course within the ST-EP Programme framework
The World Tourism Organization through the ST-EP programme and the UNWTO.Themis Foundation, in collaboration with the Comunità Impegno Servizio Volontariato (CISV) Organization, carried out the first training course in Tourism and poverty reduction in Senegal, between 27 and 30 September in Saint Louis, Senegal.
This course had 29 participants from the public sector, NGOs and public-private partnerships, and had as main objective to analyze and disseminate the methodology of ST-EP, including matters relating to its application in the tourist destination in northern Senegal.
In order to meet the objectives of this initiative, participants reflected on some issues relating to poverty alleviation through tourism, considering the impact on the economy, society, culture and environment to develop the sector destination.
