WORLD TOURISM DAY 2016 | GERÊS

This year under the theme "Tourism for All - Promoting Universal Accessibility", defined by the World Tourism Organization, the World Tourism Day will be again celebrated in Gerês (National Park Peneda-Gerês, Portugal). The tourism companies association Gerês Viver Turismo marks the date with activities directed to people with cognitive and phisical limitations and invited institutions of Braga`s district (ACAPO-Braga, AIREV-Vizela and CERCIGUI-Guimarães) to participate in them. Activities will be hipotherapy (with horses), interpretative hike and bike tour. An initiative that will enable direct contact with nature, the mountain, and some of the existing fauna and flora in Gerês, to people who for different reasons can not do it independently, demonstrating at the same time that this type of territory and heritage can and should be for everyone. Directed to the general public, will take place two guided hikes limited to 30 participants in each of them, whose registration entry is free but mandatory (info | www.geres.pt/en).
