The University of South Florida Patel College of Global Sustainability began the celebration of World Tourism Day on the evening of Sept 25th during the Sustainable Tourism class. The celebration included listening to the messages from UN Secretary Ban Ki-Mon and UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai. The celebration continued with music, a discussion of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism while sharing fair trade coffee and a tourism cake. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to continue to celebrate with friends and family through Saturday the 27th and sharing the article on our opening celebration published in the Huffington Post.
