The first year students of Yugra state university, many of whom are not local, are going on excursion around Khanty-Mansiysk, where the university is located. It is a unique city in the Wesrern Siberia. Its name comes from the names of the 2 indigenous peoples, the Khanty and the Mansi, who have their small communities in the region and preserve their tradition and culture. Nowadays it's a prosperous and comfortable place which attracts tourists from Russia and abroad and hosts intenational summits, winter sports events, chess competitions, research groups who study ecology of the bogs.
