Dominican Treasures: A Successful Model for Tourism Development in the Dominican Republic

Dominican Treasures is a quality and sustainability seal, run by the Dominican Consortium for Tourism Competitiveness (CDCT), given to tourism products in the Dominican Republic that meet minimum standards (inspired by the GSTC Recognized Standards). On World Tourism Day, Starlina Guerrero (Dominican Treasure's Coordinator) will be presenting how Dominican Treasure has been able to successfuly integrate and promote tourism products in the Dominican Republic that integrate the local communities within tourism development. The presentation is part of the Instituto Tecnologico Superior Comunitario's seminar on Tourism and Community Development which will brings together local experts to discuss how the Dominican Republic has successfully integrated the community in small scale tourism products.
