Bukoba will be hosting a celebration of the wonderful people and places of the beautiful Kagera region in north west Tanzania on World Tourism Day. Events will include: a round table discussion on the theme of this year - “Millions of Tourists, Millions of Opportunities” led by Mary Kalikawe (Chairperson of Association of Women in Tourism Tanzania); an exhibition showcasing the regions tourism attractions and services; an award ceremony recognising key individuals and tourist suppliers; a motorcade promoting the importance of the day and its importance to the Kagera Region; and finally a celebration of Kagera Culture through music and dance.
