Cappadocia University was founded in 2005 as Cappadocia Vocational High School in Mustafapasa village. The village, where the administrative center of the university is located, was chosen as “Best Tourism Village” by the UNWTO in 2021. The Univiersity is an educational, research and training institution whose main task is to provide a career for its students, conduct research on regional, national and international issue areas, and support community development through projects and trainings. The University is concentrated on education programs aiming at developing direct expertise in sectors and businesses in which Cappadocia region has a relative advantage, which includes the travel and tourism industry. The objectives of the University are: to train students and equip them with international knowledge and skills that will accelerate patent, license, product development processes and that will raise the local and national industry and technology to the highest levels; to aim for excellence through continuous research; to be synchronized with the continuous process of change of the rapidly globalizing world; to follow the developments, current issues and trends in the fields/industries in which the university has expertise; to enable students to acquire careers by directly developing expertise in sectors that provide relative economic advantage/employment. In accordance to its Strategic Plan, the main activities of Cappadocia University are: training and education, academic research, development and publishing, contribution to social and regional development.
