Saxion University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27,000 students (and still growing!). Saxion University has a rich history – its roots can be traced back to the 1875. A merger of two educational institutions, the Hogeschool Enschede and Hogeschool IJselland, in 1998 paved the way for Saxion University in its present form. This merger enabled Saxion to build further on its strong position in Dutch higher education and since then Saxion University has come to be recognized as an important center of expertise at regional, national and international level.

Saxion consists of 11 schools, covering a wide range of disciplines.

Saxion Hospitality Business School is one of these Schools. The hospitality Business School offers bachelor programmes in Tourism Management, Hotel Management, Facility management and Interior Design and Styling. The 4-year Bachelor programmes Hotel management and Tourism Management are offered in two different languages, Dutch (the national language) and English. Several parts of the Dutch programme are (also or only) offered in English. Moreover, the School offers three Master programmes, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Management and Master Facility and Real Estate Management. A Master programme in Hospitality Management is currently being developed in collaboration with a partner university; the first intake of students is expected in September 2018.
