25TH CSA/CAP JOINT MEETING & UNWTO CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

The 25th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for South Asia and the UNWTO Regional Commission for East Asia and the Pacific will be held in Hyderabad, India from the 12th – 14th April 2013.

The CSA/CAP Joint Commission meeting is UNWTO´s principal annual event in the Asia Pacific Region, attended last year by over 60 representatives from UNWTO Member States, 10 UNWTO Affiliate Members and numerous international and regional organizations including UNEP, SNV Netherlands Development Organization and Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Key topics this year will include:

  • UNWTO´s Programme of Work for the Region
  • Analysis of Tourism Towards 2030 (UNWTO´s long-term international tourism forecast) and its implications for the Asia-Pacific Region
  • Other statutory issues related to the UNWTO Asia-Pacific Member States

This year, the Joint Commission Meeting will be held in conjunction with a one-day, regional conference on Sustainable Tourism Development, which will examine the environmental, socio-cultural and economic longevity of the travel and tourism industry in light of its rapid growth, both internationally and domestically.
