NOVEMBER’S ONLINE LEARNING SESSIONS HAVE STARTED EMPHASIZING ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE DMOs’ MODUS OPERANDI TO PROMOTE SWITZERLAND ON A NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL BASIS

In the last 2 online learning sessions, delivered by Ms. Chiara Rossi, Head of the Convention Bureau at St. Gallen-Bodensee, Tourismus and the other by Mr. Dominic Stöcklin, Head of Media at Switzerland Tourism, the 2022 UNWTO Students’ League –Swizerland participants discovered more how these two professionals go about implementing their promotion activities and strategies to attract and stimulate the visitors in a sustainable manner.

Under the topic of “Quality over Quantity” Tourism in St. Gallen-Bodensee, Ms. Rossi, pointed out their work creating “experiences, products and business of high standard as they matter more than the amount or number of visits to our destination”.  Besides, she stressed that they could achieve this purpose through a network of partners, being a touristic support center for 416 partners in the region.

Mr. Stöcklin, Head of Media at Switzerland Tourism, focused his presentation on “Social Media Best Practices”, explaining how vital is not only to have a strategy for the destination, but to also have one for social media, following the same mission: “to stimulate the sustainable demand for leisure and business travel in Switzerland”. He put emphasis on the content to be shared while posting in Social Media as one of his key elements to success.

Both of them offered valuable and fantastic tips and recommendations in line with what it is expected from the students when creating their solutions to the Challenge: Off the Beaten Track” !!
