BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA STUDENTS’ HAVE STARTED WORKING ON THE “OFF THE BEATEN TRACK” CHALLENGE AND ARE LEARNING ABOUT WORLWIDE BEST PRACTICES FROM NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA STUDENTS’ HAVE STARTED WORKING ON THE “OFF THE BEATEN TRACK” CHALLENGE AND ARE LEARNING ABOUT WORLWIDE BEST PRACTICES FROM NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS

During the whole month of May and part of June, the teams from the age categories of High School and Undergraduates, are finding out more worldwide best practices in the field of Rural Development through Tourism.

On the first 15 days of the challenge, they have discovered the National Tourism Strategies  from  Mrs. Inja Hadzialic Bubalo, Head of the Department for administrative and normative-legal affairs, EU integration and informatization in the field of tourism and catering - Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and Mrs. Jelena Gavrilovic, Head of department for Tourism and Hospitality, Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Republic of Srpska.

Through the 2nd session from Ms. Marija Vukoja, General manager of Hajdučke Vrleti, President of Association Visit Blidinje and President of Tourism Cluster Herzegovina, and Mr. Emir Dervišević, Project Development Manager at Greenways Association, they learnt more about “Best Practices: Nature Park Blidinje &  the Pecka village experience”, and the 3rd session has taught the students about UNWTO’s programme of work in Rural Development, the Best Tourism Villages initiative and they have heard, first-hand through presentations from Mrs. Aleksandra Drinić, Director for the northern region in USAID Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mrs. Apolónia Rodrigues, President of Dark Sky Association, about the 2  UNWTO Best Tourism Villages Cumeada and Krupa na Vrbasu’s strategies, communication plans, etc.
