Raising Awareness of Tourism Crisis Management - Sharing Case Studies and Communication Plan

The UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Japan Tourism Agency will hold a Symposium on Raising Awareness of Tourism Crisis Management, including Sharing Case Studies and Communication Plan.

The Symposium on Raising Awareness of Tourism Crisis Management, including Sharing Case Studies and Communication Plan will be held on Thursday 17th February 2022 from 13h30 to 17h15 (UTC: +9 hours – Japan time). This event is organized by the UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Japan Tourism Agency.

This symposium will help local governments, DMOs, and tourism operators to deepen their understanding of tourism crisis management and assist them with policy formulation.

The event will have a practical focus including topics covering "The creation of Guidelines for tourism crisis management planning and crisis response manual" and "Best practices for tourism crisis management from Australia and Japan".

Furthermore, a panel discussion composed of local tourism stakeholders working in tourism crisis management in their destination as well as experts will explore tourism crisis management communication, including the challenging task of collecting and disseminating information.

Japanese-English simultaneous translation will be provided.
