The School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Leeds Beckett University UK is one of the leading Schools of its type in the UK.

Teaching programmes

We offer high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education. This is informed by the research of our academic staff and their engagement with progressive organisations, including major employers. Our efforts to refine our programmes in ligyht of current trends have been rewarded with industry accolades from the Institute of Travel and Tourism and, uniquely, the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers, both have grantes us Centre of Excellence status.  We also hold TEDQual kite mark for our MSc Responsible Tourism course. Our work is co-ordinated by two specialist centres: the UK Centre for Events Management (UKCEM) and the Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Management. 


The International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality manages our research enterprise initiatives, drawing on staff expertise from across the School. Many of our academic staff write text books to which students around the world refer during their studies. Moreover, they regularly publish their original sector-related research in peer reviewed international journals. The most recent official evaluation of research undertaken in the UK ranked the university group to which we contributed 2nd in the country for research power (a measure of quality and volume). Academic staff also undetake consultancy, development and advisory projects for distinguished organisations such as the Eocnomic and Social Research Council, the International Congress and Convention Association and Meeting Professionals International.
